Living in Delhi is a near continuous bombardment of the senses. I would be very surprised if many children have sensory integration difficulties - due to the exposure they have! The first thing that hit me was the noise - the traffic, the dogs barking, the car horns honking, the bicycle bells rings, people shouting etc etc. The smells are far more intense than in the UK - and not always pleasant! It is the scent of spices, mingled with rubbish, foul water and drains! The best time to inhale deeply is when food is being cooked, either in peoples homes or from the variety of street venders. To experience some proprioceptive (I had a bet with Daniel that I could fit that into the blog) input - go no further than than the Metro - where you will be well squwished and a trip in an auto rickshaw will give an excellent vestibular (movement) workout - as it swerves in between traffic and through spaces that shouldn't be possible.
You may notice I have so far failed to mention the sights - there is definately a whole load of activity going on, to watch and on close inspection bright vibrant colours. The only downside is everything is viewed through a veil of fine dust!
Great to hear what you are both doing and a bit about where you are living.
